Founder’s Biography

Dr Simon Prince Manhasset Great Neck Roslyn New Hyde Park Port Washington Glen Cove Bayside Little Neck Old Westbury Glen Oaks  Nephrologist

Dr. Simon Prince is the Founder and President of North Shore Nephrology P.C. As a clinician and scientist, he is pre-eminent in the field of Nephrology, with a principal focus on Chronic Kidney Disease and Hypertension.

Dr. Prince is an ideal medical expert for commentary on radio or television. He is available to discuss a wide range of medical topics affecting millions of people across the United States.

Education:

Dr. Prince graduated with a B.A. from University of Pennsylvania in 1993, where he studied Economics and Mathematics. In 1997 he received his Medical Degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury NY. He completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital (Manhasset, NY) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Center (NYC).

In 2002, Dr. Prince completed his fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Hospital, with additional training in Kidney Transplantation at The Rogosin Institute, New York Hospital, Cornell.

Career Highlights:

Dr. Prince is the President of the Medical Staff at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY and actively serves on various hospital committees. In addition, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Prince regularly provides training to medical students, residents and fellows at the local hospitals and teaches Nephrology at NYCOM (New York College of Osteopathic Medicine).
Dr. Prince has written extensively on many areas of Nephrology and has been published in numerous local and national publications.

As an expert on all things Nephrology, Dr. Prince is a frequent guest on popular radio shows, including WLITE FM, Q104.3, WBAB/WBLI, WTHE, WRIV. His goal is to share his insights about Kidney Disease and High Blood Pressure and help as many people as possible to protect their health and take control of their lives.

Charitable Activities:

Dr. Prince has participated in multiple charitable events devoted to Kidney disease and Hypertension. These events include Community lectures, Kidney Walks, Inner-city Youth events with a basketball star Alonzo Mourning, and many others.

In July of 2009 Dr. Prince has been appointed Vice President of Membership of Nassau Physicians Foundation in Manhasset NY. He is responsible for bringing together a diverse group of physicians and encouraging them to participate in charitable events across Long Island.

  • 1 in 9 Americans will eventually develop Kidney Disease in their lifetime.
  • More than 340,000 of Americans are on dialysis.
  • Nearly 75,000 are on the waiting list for a kidney transplant.
  • More than 7,000 of our fellow Long Islanders are undergoing dialysis treatment.
